The Globe is not only a cheap real ale pub (some brewed on site), but also has a music venue upstairs, that hosts World musicians, DJs and other events. There's also Irish music in the pub itself on Mondays.

All the food served here is vegan! The main courses are made on the premises, and are an absolute bargain. £2.90 will get you either Chickpea and Spinach Curry, or Chilli, and that includes the rice! For an extra £1, you can have a Naan bread, or smoked tofu chunks in the chilli. Chips, 'Fry's' sausage and gravy also available, for £2.50. Swedish Glace ice cream is £1.50 for two scoops.  It says ‘no under 18s’ on the door, but every time we’ve been in, there have been kids, so we assume that just applies to the function room. Dogs welcome.

Pub opens 5pm. (12 noon Sun) Food served ‘til 9.30pm. Closed on Tuesdays.

Directions

At the crossroads by the station, turn right and walk along High St West for nearly 10 mins. Some parking available on street.
